The fourth edition of the Love Ball, which takes Naked Heart Foundation supporters to a new destination every time, was inspired this time by Monaco, its tradition of philanthropy, hospitality and the Principality’s strong cultural ties with Russia.
The Salle Garnier of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo was completely transformed for the event and stage director Vasily Barkhatov, who is well known for a host of productions at Russia’s Bolshoi and Mariinsky theatres, acted as the party’s artistic director. Mariinsky Prima Ballerina and international star Diana Vishneva performed for guests, as did Grammy Award-winner Ildar Abdrazakov and world-class violinist Maxim Vengerov. The evening ended with a performance by maestro Valery Gergiev, who has specially flown to Monte-Carlo immediately after the world premiere of the opera “Levsha” in St. Petersburg. The night was hosted by the wonderful British actor and comedian James Corden.
The Naked Heart Foundation in honoured that H.S.H. Prince Albert II, H.S.H. Princess of Monaco and H.R.H. Princess of Hanover could be present at the event. Other Love Ball RIVIERA guests included Karl Lagerfeld, Bono, James Corden, Mario Testino, Novak Djokovic, Astrid Munoz, Antoine Arnault, Ulyana Sergeenko, Derek Blasberg, Noor Fares, Harvey Weinstein, Alessandro Sartori, Margherita Missoni and Polly Morgan.
The auction was held by the charity’s long-standing friends at Christie’s Sandra Nedvetskaia and Andreas Rumbler. Among the auction lots, 16 of which elegantly evoked the story of a couple in love on a fantasy trip around Monaco, were a private tennis lesson with Rafael Nadal, an internship at Chanel with Karl Lagerfeld, afternoon tea with Prince Albert, an avant-première Rolex watch and a meeting with Roger Federer and a round of golf on the 2014 Ryder Cup course with European team captain Paul McGinley.
10% of the funds raised at the auction will benefit AMADE Mondiale, the World Association of Children’s Friends, presided by H.R.H. Princess Caroline.
The evening continued at the Casino de Monte-Carlo where guests were offered to play with specially created Love Ball charity chips.
The event was kindly supported by Monte-Carlo SBM, Fiat, Maserati and Lancia.
